Architects or artists
Currently，the appearance of the building already become the most important evaluation criteria of architecture design . This leads to most of the architectural design more like a sculpture instead of Architecture because these architecture just flashy design products . But this is not mean the Architectural appearance is unimportant , From another perspective the architecture itself is a product of art . However, but there are still fundamental difference between the buildings design and artworks design. For artists , the art work is the way to expressed artists self-consciousness . Artwork can be highly independent and no responsibility to anyone or anything . However the architecture design is different , the outstanding architectural design should responsible to people , environment and culture. It is believed the good architecture have three characteristic , there are utility , contextuality and iconography . Firstly , From a functional point of view the architecture should utility . the word utility refer to the structure of architecture . The structure is not only the material that Support the entire building , but also should have iconographical functions such as the Santiago Calatrava’s “musical” beams for the Cabaret Tabourettli concert . For words contextuality means the architects should thinking about the relationship between the architecture and landscape. Actually the word landscape should more than a strictly topographical sense. Borrow the Walter Zschokke’s word - ‘conception of inner eye ,shaped by the movements and events of human civilization’ . The way to create relationship between the architecture and landscape can be no limitation. It can be the use of materials or structure of the building ,even how to use this building . The worlds ichnography means the architecture design should try to avoid make the architecture become a Sculpture . For architects , architecture design must provide an inspiring and terrific experience for people inside and outside of it and close closely linked the landscape and culture.
In conclusion, Architecture design should be the perfect combination functionalism and aesthetics.At the same time the Architecture is the bridge between the cultural and environment .
